Pulse News app allows users to keep up with news

By ROBERT PURSELL

An application developed for the iPhone and Android smartphones titled “Pulse News” is allowing journalists and concerned citizens to stay on top of the news no matter where they are.

The app describes itself as compiling news from “All your favorite blogs, magazines and newspapers in one place for FREE. Exciting to use, quick to read, ready to share.
” on its application page on Apple.com.

Currently it has been downloaded more than 20 million times and was awarded the 2011 Apple Design Award.

The application itself has multiple useful purposes. It compiles news and separates the stories into different categories depending on the type of story. There are sections for entertainment, lifestyle, and technology. It also features a “Best of” section where it lists the most read stories on the site. It also has tools for users to share stories on social networking sites like Twitter and Facebook.

This tool will no doubt come in handy for traveling reporters who need to stay on top of their news during long periods on the road away from the computer and allows journalists to make the entire experience of reporting completely mobile.
