Art-Design

While colorful art deco architecture has dotted the shores of South Beach since the early 1920s, when the city was nothing more but an unpopular stop at the end of a rail line, the City of Miami and the surrounding area have witnessed immense cultural growth throughout the past 90 years. Today, South Florida is home to numerous arts festivals, including the Coconut Grove Arts Festival, Art Basel, and Design Miami.

The University of Miami’s campus annually hosts the Beaux Arts Festival of Art. Recently, the festival celebrated its 62nd year –– and proceeds collected from that event will benefit the Lowe Art Museum’s programming, acquisitions, improvements and capital campaigns.

Fashion and interior design also have their own respective niches in South Florida. And, with neighborhoods like Midtown and Wynwood witnessing exponential growth in the past three years, the local arts and design scenes in Miami may contain aesthetic pleasures for a multitude of audiences.

In this section of our Web site, we review local arts and design events held in the culturally creative hub known as Miami.

We hope you will enjoy our work, and even consider visiting some of these festivals, locations and events.
