Theater

Theater has begun to see an enormous boom and, fortunately for the art scene in South Florida, this rebirth is getting the attention of many people. Festival initiatives in the Sunshine State, such as the International Hispanic Theatre Festival and the South Florida Theatre Festival, have emerged with great success and have created the buzz that theater in Miami is in!

While offering a variety of options for all kinds of theater, Miami is starting to generate a vibrant theatrical culture and it is creating ambitious projects that aim to unite the most talented directors, actors and actresses of our region.

Miami is home to wonderful performing venues such as the Art Deco-Style Colony Theatre, built in 1930 at the heart of South Beach; the Actor’s Playhouse at the historic Miracle Theater in Coral Gables; the Adrienne Arsht Center, which is Florida’s largest performing art center, located on the famous Biscayne Boulevard; and ArtSpoken Performing Arts Center, situated in Little Havana’s 12th & 6th Art District.

It is definitely a good time to enter the world of theater and experience its accelerated pace. We invite you to read this section of our Web site where you will find reviews, programming, and insight into South Florida’s theatre scene.
