{"id":5749,"date":"2016-03-25T03:29:23","date_gmt":"2016-03-25T07:29:23","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/students.com.miami.edu\/reporting\/?p=5749"},"modified":"2016-03-25T06:29:50","modified_gmt":"2016-03-25T10:29:50","slug":"custom-bike-goes-against-uci-standards","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/students.com.miami.edu\/reporting\/custom-bike-goes-against-uci-standards\/","title":{"rendered":"Custom bike goes against UCI standards"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>By WYATT GELLER<\/p>\n<p>Rules are rules when it comes to athletic competition and sometimes creativity does not help you win a race.<\/p>\n<p>Bike maker Robert Egger had a vision to invent a new model, even though it would not be permitted in races such as the Tour de France because of <span class=\"st\">Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) <\/span>rules.<\/p>\n<p>According to CNN, this bike is referred to as &#8220;Fuci,&#8221; which, if you sound it out, it does not ring a good bell.\u00a0 The back wheel is\u00a0larger than the front wheel, which is illegal for racing.<\/p>\n<p>What also makes it a crazy creation is that Its headlights\u00a0are inside the seat,\u00a0so they beam out from the holes\u00a0leading towards the back of the bike.<\/p>\n<p>The bike also has a lithium battery that is also banned from competition, which reminded me that I can no longer store my hover board in my dorm.<\/p>\n<p>I would love to buy one of these bikes, although I do not know the price of it.\u00a0 Great work by Robert.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By WYATT GELLER Rules are rules when it comes to athletic competition and sometimes creativity does not help you win a race.
