{"id":7786,"date":"2017-02-24T08:28:23","date_gmt":"2017-02-24T13:28:23","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/students.com.miami.edu\/reporting\/?p=7786"},"modified":"2017-02-24T10:09:27","modified_gmt":"2017-02-24T15:09:27","slug":"miami-dade-and-rent","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/students.com.miami.edu\/reporting\/miami-dade-and-rent\/","title":{"rendered":"Miami-Dade continues to be costly"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>By COURTNEY ADELMAN<\/p>\n<p>Miami remains one of the top 10 most expensive cities in which to live.<\/p>\n<p>Miami-Dade County ranked ninth in the country for the most expensive rents with an average of $1,800 for a one bedroom and $2,500 for a two bedroom, according to the latest Zumper National Rent Report for February, which is \u00a0a monthly analysis that looks at more than 1 million currently \u00a0active listings across the county\u2019s top 100 markets.<\/p>\n<p>It is about twice as expensive to rent an apartment in a place like San Antonio or in cities in South Carolina.<\/p>\n<p>It is three times more expensive than staying in Oklahoma in a one bedroom apartment In Oklahoma City or Cleveland.<\/p>\n<p>According to <em>The Miami Herald,<\/em> &#8220;Rents in the county range from as high as $5,100 on average in millionaire-thick Fisher Island to $700 in Brownsville, which is still higher than a third of the average rents in the country\u2019s top 100 markets. &#8221;<\/p>\n<div class=\"ng_mm_link1\">\n<div class=\"MHembed MHembed__full MHembed__photo\">Rent will continue to be an upward trend. So think wisely on where to love.
