Welcome, travelers!

Welcome to the Web space we call the South Florida Travel Writers Group.

Our publishing base is South Florida, specifically the Miami and Coral Gables areas. We are a travel writing and travel journalism course — mostly juniors, seniors, and masters students — at the University of Miami. We’re posting our work here in hopes that you will take a look at it. If you’re an editor looking for travel writing about South Florida and other locations around the nation, let us know of your interests.

You will find different types of travel features ranging from destination and attraction features to news and features that enhance traveling to personal experiences during traveling.

In addition to this site, some of our projects have been posted on a companion site devoted to the American national parks system, Our National Parks. We hope you will visit this site to see our work also.

The South Florida Travel Writers Group Web site is developed for JMM 446 and JMM 646, “Travel Writing,” as part of the programs of the Journalism and Media Management Department of the School of Communication. Header images are courtesy of the Web site staff and Travel Writer’s Group writer-photographer Donatela Vacca.
